Spring is here, even is the rain sometimes still creeps in. I like to use a splash of colour on my lips and to keep the rest of the make up understated. I pay lots of attention to the health of my skin as I do not like heavy make up (great skin care and lots of vegetables/legumes/cereals) do the trick!
This look is very easy to achieve and plays around pink tones, without being too bubblegum.
1) Foundation / concealer
I love RMS uncover up in 00. I applied it where I need it the most. It doubles as a concealer as well.
This product can be applied with fingers or with a synthetic brush (RMS has just launched its own brushes, but for the time being I stick to the brushes that I already have).
When I apply the uncover up as a concealer I use a smaller brush to reach the areas that need more attention easily. I like to “push” the product into the skin with the fingers.
I tried the new multi stick At Last by Ilia, a lovely dust pink that works very well to achieve a flushed look, without being too much. I apply it in layers, making sure to blend the edges very well (one of my pet peeves are people that apply the blush as if it was a circle on the cheeks, with all the edges very visible).
As I am going to use a bold lipstick I will keep the cheeks understated. I will retouch the blush at the end (after having applied the lipstick) to make sure everything is in balance. It is much easier to add more product later than having to take it off!
As it is not already super hot and my skin does not look shiny I love to apply one of my favourite products, the Living Luminizer by RMS. It is the most beautiful highlighter: there are no visible particles and it wakes up the skin, making it look glowy.
I apply it in the upper part of the cheeks, on the bridge of the nose, on the cupids bow and in the inner corner of the eyes. I blend well to avoid hard edges,
I like to keep the eyes natural as the lips will be pretty bold. For this look I used Sacred by RMS, a earthy slightly metallic bronze.
I love a good dose of volumizing mascara and Ilia is currently my product of choice. I use the colour nightfall, a true black.
Here is the center of attention of this look: a bold raspberry yet wearable pink. It is a limited edition lip conditioner called Pink Moon by Ilia. I apply it with a brush (I never use lip pencils, I do not like them).
The products I mentioned can be purchased at ECODIVA
