I am a big fan of the Bayliss Big Hair rotating brush (a staple in my haircare routine) so when Amazon offered me to try and review the Bayliss Curl Secret Ionic I said “yeah!”.
PERFORMANCE: it is very easy to use. Get a section of hair (not larger than 2 centimetres in depth), put it in the machine and it does everything by itself. There are two temperatures you can choose (210 and 230 degrees) and three types of waves style: a la Gisele Bundchen, defined loose curls and Shirley temple style curls.
The product is very effective and requires two seconds to understand how to use it. The results are OK, especially if you have past the shoulder hair. However, the waves don’t last a long time (no more than one day) and using it too often may damage the hair due to the heath.
There is also a button that allows you to choose the sense of rotation of the curl: clockwise or anti-clockwise. You can choose automatic, which means the tool will automatically alternate the two senses.
HOW TO USE IT: you have to use the Bayliss Curl Secret Ionic on perfectly dry hair as the high temperature will fry your hair if wet or slightly wet.
Brush the hair very well: avoid knots as the hair will get trapped into the machine and it will lock itself (it has a safety mode). Section the hair and start with the hairs “underneath”: small sections of no more than 2 centimetres. Put one section into the Bayliss Curl Secret Ionic – no need to push pull or anything. The Bayliss Curl Secret Ionic will do the job by itself. You will hear a few “bibs” and then a long one meaning that you can release the hair.
Depending on the heat and strength you chose the wave will be more or less pronounced. In the picture below I used the 2nd strength on the right and the third on the left. Usually I use the first as I prefer more natural beauty waves.
