De Mamiel is a little bit of a hit and miss when it comes to my skin. The lip balm is one of the first products that I tested as I use lip balms daily and this one smells of roses – one of my favourite scents.

PERFORMANCE: it is a moisturising balm that can be applied on the lips whenever you need it. It is a clear balm and I love that it is not sticky or too shiny. Due to its matte effect it is very discreet: it can be applied by itself or under the lipstick.

The lip balm delivers: it is very moisturising, but if you have super super dry lips the RMS Lip Balm delivers better (even though I do not buy anymore as it is too pricey at 25 euros for 5 ml vs De Mamiel Rosey Lip Balm at 17 euros for 10ml, and the RMS gets rancid after a couple of months).

The De Mamiel Rosey Lip Balm is one of the best that I have ever used: it lasts for several hours without eating/drinking so I don’t need to re-apply it too often. Definitely recommended: it does not contained the dreaded spearmint or mint/peppermint essential oil that I detest!!

SCENT: it smells and tastes of roses. I love it (but if you not like the scent of roses you won’t like this one!!)

HOW TO USE IT: apply it as and when required. A little goes a long way. It is not sticky and it has a matte effect. I use it during the day by itself, underneath the lipstick. I also apply it before I go to sleep.

SWATCH:

it is not greasy or gloopy. It has a very discrete finish.
